Selling, returns and closing a shift

This is where you sell, handle returns and count the drawer. Start with one sale and closing a shift; the other actions are available according to the permissions and features turned on for your business.

This is where you sell, handle returns and count the drawer. Start with one sale and closing a shift; the other actions are available according to the permissions and features turned on for your business.

Sale (main screen)

  1. Search for a product by name, SKU or barcode, or pick it from the right category. You can scan with a compatible barcode scanner.
  2. Check the item and quantity in the cart. Change the quantity with the + and − buttons.
  3. If needed, use Add customer and attach the sale to the right customer.
  4. Tap Charge, choose the payment method and check the amount.
  5. Complete the sale, check the receipt and print according to your business settings.
Add a product, check the quantity and price in the cart, then go to payment. The screen shows demo data.

Cash: enter the amount received and check the change. Card: charge on the business's external terminal, make sure the charge was approved and record the approved amount at the register. Tapping card at the register doesn't charge the card by itself.

Other methods include check, gift card and store credit, depending on what's turned on and your permissions. You can split a payment across methods; check the balance before finishing.

Changing an item's price: tap the price on the cart line. For a product set as negotiable, the room left down to the minimum price (floor) is shown. The employee's limit also affects the allowed price. Going below the floor needs approval from the right manager. The name Room can be changed in the business preferences; in this context it means room to negotiate, not necessarily the accounting profit.

Discount applies to the cart as a percent or an amount; you can also enter a coupon code when it's on. Incentive lets you give a gift card from the available negotiation room, according to the settings. Check the amount and the reward terms before confirming.

Park saves a cart for later. Layaway saves an order with a deposit and the balance still to pay. These are different actions: a parked cart isn't proof that payment was received.

Receipts

  1. Open Receipts and choose the sale.
  2. Check the date, amount, items and payment methods to make sure it's the right transaction.
  3. As needed, choose Return/Refund or Void. Manager approval may be required.
  4. Check the result and the document created. For a card refund, also make sure of the action needed on the external terminal.
Open the sale details and check it before a return or void. This is a demo screen, not an accounting document of a real business.

Customers

Search for a customer, check contact details and purchase history, and add or edit according to your permission. If the loyalty club is on, you can see points and redeem them under the reward rules. Make sure the right customer is selected before attaching them to the sale; giving a phone number is not in itself consent to marketing messages.

Gift cards

Open Gift, find the card and check the balance before redeeming or loading. Selling a gift card, a credit voucher and loyalty points are not the same action. Validity terms and the required document are set for the business separately, according to the arrangement that applies to it.

Layaways

Open the order and check the customer, the items and the balance. You can record another payment, complete or cancel, according to your permission. Don't close a new sale for the same balance without checking the original order.

Competition

When a sales competition is running, the screen shows rankings and prizes according to the settings in the back office. The display doesn't change price or discount permissions.

Drawer

  1. At the start of work, choose Open shift and enter the starting cash amount.
  2. During work, record Cash in / out when there's a movement that isn't a sale.
  3. At the end, choose Close shift and count the actual cash.
  4. Compare to the expected amount, check any difference and finish closing.

Managing the drawer requires cash permission. The End of Day Report in the back office brings together sales and shifts; close every shift so the count is recorded.

Clock In/Out (time clock)

Open Clock In/Out, tap Check In or Check Out and enter your username and password in the window that opens. The logged-in cashier can also use the clock button in the header. Check that the action was recorded under the right user.

Next to the buttons, personal data is shown, including today's sales and commission according to the settings. Recording hours helps with reporting; it doesn't determine holiday pay entitlement or replace checking the payslip.

Business Card

Show or print a card with the business and branch name and contact details. To update it, go to the back office: Locations → Settings → General Info. You can choose employees currently on shift to add their names to the card.

Parked carts

Open the cart saved with Park, check that the items and quantities still fit and continue to payment. Before completing, also check the customer and the price.

Header buttons

The clock button clocks the logged-in cashier in or out and shows whether they're on shift. Lock returns to the PIN screen. Lock the register when you leave the counter; the next employee will log in with their own PIN.
